Register What you will learn Course description: Improvements in the care of transplant recipients and advances in immunosuppressive therapy have reduced the incidence of graft rejection and as a result secondary complications are observed more frequently within transplant grafts. Transplantation of Liver, Kidney, and Pancreas vary in their anatomic approach, systemic anastomosis, and appearance by sonography and understanding of this is critical for diagnostic imaging with ultrasonography. This course will provide attendees the opportunity to spend a day with Dr. Leslie Scoutt who is widely recognized and published as an authority on abdominal Doppler assessment. She will share a blend of didactic and case study lecture to improve the skills of the attendees in evaluating the complex transplant. This course will cover the background, technique and anatomy, normal post transplant findings, and the role of ultrasound in evaluation of the post operative complications. These post-operative findings will cover both Doppler and grayscale findings to support the vascular sonographer and interpreting physicians understanding of these complex cases. Currency: USDCourse objectives: • Describe the clinical background for transplanted kidney. liver and pancreas • Explain the anatomy associated with allografts including arterial , venous, and exocrine anastomosis • Discuss the Doppler flow profiles associated with normal and abnormal findings in the setting of transplants. • Describe the 2D imaging findings associated with normal and abnormal findings in the setting of transplants. • Describe normal and abnormal findings postoperatively in both near and late stage • Explain differences between differential diagnosis in the transplant. • Display ability to optimize imaging and applications for increased diagnostic confidence when assessing abdominal transplants Course details Course Code: VASC300Delivery method: Instructor-led Language: English Duration: 1 Day Course instructor(s) : Leslie Scoutt, MDCourse disclaimer: The content is for information and education only.
